The academic year is divided into three Terms (Semesters) (First or Fall; Second or Spring; and Third or Summer). The fall and spring terms or semesters are of seventeen weeks each, while the summer term is only eight weeks. but with olmost double-timed lectures.

If the two Islamic Festivals lie in the same term (semester), one extra week is added. The summer terms in the first four years of study are also available to practical training in industry whether in Egypt or abroad. Selected courses by the AIET Institute may be offered in the summer term in which students can register in not more than two courses, according to the regulations of the AIET Institute Council and without contradiction with their summer training.

This Continual Education and Training Department delivers continual education programs that links the AIET Institute and the community by offering courses/Handes on taraining that aim to serve the needs of commerce, industry and local business community and by making the range of professional, technological and managerial expertise within the AIET Institute more accessible.

Instructors/Traniers are drawn from the AIET Institute, the business world, and may have advanced degrees. The programs offered by the Continual Education and Training Department give multi-course certificates in such fields as accounting, finance, marketing, management, e-commerce, e-business, electronics, communication systems, computer software and hardware, information technology and motorcar electronics. These programs are designed for persons who want to acquire a thorough background in a given field.

General lectures on cultural aspects are regularly held almost weekly. Lectures in arts, environment, humanities, etc. are given by specialists in the field. Promotion of appreciation and activity in these fields is greatly emphasized. The Time Interval 12:30 - 2:30 every Monday is devoted to such activities. Also, the AIET Institute has access to modern sports centers. They house multipurpose gymnasium; swimming pool; basketball, volleyball, handball, squash, and tennis courts.

The AIET Institute provides assistance in defining students career objectives based on factual information about the world of work and an understanding of interests and skills acquired through education and life experience.

Besides the clinic which is on the AIET Institute premises registered, students are covered by a health insurance policy.
